From March 30 to April 16, the 9th grade class took up a collective project aimed to represent and commemorate 100 years of Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) with the project being headed by Lithuanian language teachers Mr. Vytautas, Ms. Irena, and Ms. Asta, the 9th grade worked in teams to cover the 100 years of history and present it in the form of a vast timeline.
Aligned with the project's goal and to further aid research, on April 14, the whole grade 9 took a trip to the Lithuanian National Radio and Television headquarters. The building, constructed in 1956, is a testament to the resilience and perseverance of the Lithuanian population. From a lack of cooling systems during its early years to being stormed by Soviet soldiers during the events of January 13, 1991, the LRT headquarters was a reminder of the power of the people.
As the class toured various studios, they got to see where some of their favourite childhood shows were filmed and even simulated reading from a teleprompter. Each passing room took us back in time, altering our perception of the hardships of studio production. We learned about television and radio during the Soviet occupation, which prompted us to reflect on the privileges we have today.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to listen to the final broadcasting message in 1991 before Soviet soldiers cut it off. Students were asked to reflect on the anxiety in her voice and how they would act in a similar situation.

Overall, the 9th-grade LRT trip was a powerful experience, providing the class with valuable insights into the country's history and helping us better understand the history of the place and organisation we were researching.
