LS Community Service

The AISV Community Service program is rooted in the School’s Guiding Statements, particularly in our values:

  • Empowered international community

To build an international AISV community that maximizes participation, communication, empowerment and celebrations.

  • Meaningful learning opportunities

To provide meaningful learning opportunities through organic, experiential and inquiry-driven learning processes.

Community Service is an integral part of the educational program in Lower School at AISV. The Lower School Student Council spearheads community service efforts for the division. Involvement in community service experiences and projects enables students to develop appreciation, respect, and  a sense of responsibility for the environment, to build relationships, to respond to others’ needs and to enhances appreciation and respect for different cultures.

Students have an opportunity to join activities, experiences and projects during the school day or as an extracurricular activity.

Some examples of AISV Lower School student service projects:

  • Treat bags for refugee children at an International Children’s Day event

  • Grade 4 sponsorship of a Nepali girl through Plan International so that she can continue her schooling
