AISV Organization

AISV has its own School Board. The Board is composed of seven voting members, including officers, and additional non-voting members. Membership of the Board may be increased by vote of the board up to a total of nine, providing that the total membership be an odd number. The Ambassador of the United States Embassy in Vilnius and his/her designee of the American Embassy are, ex-officio, members with full voting rights. The Ambassador of the American Embassy is the Chairman of the Board or shall appoint another U.S. Embassy Official as Chairman. The Director of the school and the president of the Parent School Association (PSA) are members of the Board, but have no vote.

Affiliations and Accreditation

AISV is a fully accredited international school in Lithuania. Our school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, and is currently awaiting final accreditation credentials by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). AISV is also a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA),  The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), and The National Association of Elementary Schools (NEASP) which promotes the National Honor Society (NHS), the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) as well as the National Association of Student Councils and the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE).

AISV is also an authorised  IB World School and is offering the IB Diploma Program to grades 11 and 12.
