AISV High School Students in Grades 10-12 have been preparing to take part in the first ever virtual CEESA HS Speech & Debate tournament hosted by NOVA Skopje and QSI Almaty International Schools on Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Twelve AISV students will be either debating on the resolution “This house believes that states should have the power to ban certain social media applications from their countries” or/and competing in speech activities (duet acting, original
oratory and oral interpretation) with other students from international schools from Skopje, Almaty, Moscow, Belgrade, Helsinki, Tirana, and Istanbul.
Student speech activities have been videotaped and uploaded on the hosting school’s website for assessment this past week.
A big thank you to our AISV Alumni, Justina Jablonskaitė and Roberta Sirgėdaitė, as well as our teachers Ms. Segedy, Mr. Elger, Ms. Kaikarienė, Ms. Gerybienė for helping our students prepare for the tournament.
Next week all the judges from different schools will evaluate the speeches, and the top 5 scoring performances from each category (duet acting, original oratory and oral interpretation) will go into the finals that will take place on Saturday, November 21.
