AISV Monthly Assembly - September was dedicated to Open Minded students

2020.10.27

AISV has monthly assemblies for each school division. These assemblies are dedicated to different traits of the IB learner. Each month the students and teachers are selecting students in every grade level who best represent a certain IB learner trait as well as reflect the characteristics of AISV Active Learner. The monthly assemblies are also dedicated to celebrating student achievements, sharing information about upcoming events and projects as well as focusing on different topics of interest to our students.

The first assembly this year was devoted to recognizing students for the IB learner trait Open Minded as well as Active Learners of the month. In addition, we had a very special guest speaker - Ms. TAONGA NGOLEKA - from Malawi (Africa) who joined the assembly virtually and shared a presentation about the school system and lifestyle in her home country. The students were very excited to listen to the speaker and ask some questions since they already got familiar with Malawi by reading the book "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" in the school wide AISV Reads initiative over this past summer.
