College and Career Planning

Starting in Grade 9, AISV provides students with career and college guidance  to help them with college planning and placement. All students attend classes dedicated to explore personal and  career interests, to evaluate their current academic and extracurricular activities, and to design higher education plans.  Throughout their high school years, using a web-based management system, the career and college counselor supports students with academic planning, course selection, standardized testing, college search and applications.  Students and their families have the opportunity to participate in career fairs, college visits and fairs, and individual counseling, to develop personal, academic, and career goals. All students, from Grade 8 to Grade 11, will take the PSAT to prepare for the SAT, a test used for admissions in many universities. AISV is a recognized testing center in Vilnius. Students at AISV tend to attend highly ranked universities around the world, including the US, the UK, and many universities in Europe.

AISV students in grades 11 and 12 may take the PSAT, SAT I and SAT II tests - globally recognized college admission tests. They test the knowledge of reading, writing, math, and specialist subjects. Most colleges and universities around the world use the SAT to make university admission decisions. SAT scores are just one of many factors that colleges consider when making their admission decisions. High school grades and extra-curricular achievements are also very important. The College Counselor provides guidance for college applications, testing, as well as  interventional assistance for students who are in need of academic help.
