A Meeting with an American Astronaut Karol Bobko at the Planetarium

A Meeting with an American Astronaut Karol Bobko at the Planetarium

2011.11.18

This week AISV students had a fantastic opportunity to meet a man who went to space three times to work in the space stations. Mr. Karol Bobko came to Lithuania for 2 reasons. One reason was that his grandparents were Lithuanian so he wanted to come and explore the home country of his grandparents and the other reason was that he had a conference here where he was presenting about his experience in space. When the planetarium‘s doors opened,  everybody walked into a dome shaped building and then as everybody took their seats, a gentle, kind nice man stood up and walked in the middle and started his presentation. When he talked, it seemed like I was in a space shuttle flying in space and staring at the earth. He told us about how life was in space, how you have to excersise, what the food was like, about the suits, and all the technology in space. After his presentation was done, kids started asking questions. The  questions that were asked were from „Do you believe in alines?“ to „Is spending millions of dollars on space exploration necessary?“ This was a great presentation, and now, we all know about space.
