Grades 9 and 10 Visited London

It started off with sixteen wild ninth and tenth graders and two brave teachers. The trip itself was full of history and culture as we went through many well-known museums like the British National Museum, Tate Modern and the Imperial War Museum. However out of all these museums, the Natural History Museum was my absolute favorite! While walking through the museum I observed an array of fossils, from dinosaurs and mammoths to the more modern animals we see today. And the best part about all the museums is that they are all free other than special exhibitions.

Another highlight of the trip was when we went to Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace. There we were suppose to see Othello performed by the magnificent Royal Shakespeare Company; after a lot of last-minute commotion, it turned out that our tickets had been purchased for the wrong day! But thanks to a very understanding RSC staff, some of our tickets were exchanged to see the Lover's Sacrifice by John Ford instead. Whichever one you ended up seeing, the performances were equally amazing. We also went to see another play called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. It has won awards across the board and I would award it with the honor of being the very best play I have ever seen. I would recommend it to everyone!

Lastly, we visited the Imperial College and Winchester College while we were in London. Both of them were real eye-openers for all of us in terms of what a college looks like and what you can study in those colleges.

To sum it all up, the trip to London was a real treat and I would like to thank Ms. Gillette and Mr. West for taking good care of us and promoting group spirit throughout the trip.
