Introduction

Middle School Program (Grades 6 - 8)
Early adolescence, the middle school years, is a time when children experience a great amount of change physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Children begin to view the world around them differently, attempt to understand and relate to others, and ask complex questions about things that were usually taken for granted in the earlier years. The AISV Middle School curriculum is based upon American model and is a transition between Elementary self-contained instruction and High School departmentalized instruction. Middle school students receive much, but not all, of their core subject (language arts, math, science, and social studies) instruction while grouped with their grade level peers. They are placed into multi-age groups for most of the special subjects. In addition to core academic subjects, the School offers French, German, Lithuanian language and culture, physical education, art, computers and music.

High School Program (Grades 9-10)
AISV's grade 9/ 10 program is a balanced international curriculum. It is designed to encourage high academic standards through a practical approach to teaching and learning. The curriculum is suitable for students of all nationalities and all levels of ability. It prepares students for further studies whether they transfer to a high school in the UK, the USA, or another international school. The majority of the resources used in the program come from publishers in the USA.

Grade 11 added in 2009-2010

For  the 2009-2010 school year AISV will offer classes up to and including Grade 11. We have been authorized to offer AP coursework and will offer AP Biology as well as AP World History next year in addition to the other major subjects which are offered at any high school (Math, English, PE, Languages, etc.)We will offer Grade 12 the following year (as well as two other AP courses which will be AP Calculus as well as AP Literature). We have a very strong staff, (our History and Science teachers are both PhD's) and we plan to have a US Fulbright teacher work at our school next year as well in the high school English department. In order to review how well we could serve your children, a current high school transcript of the coursework completed to date would be very helpful to review.
